James Gray’s Ad Astra, the long-awaited and long-anticipated follow-up to 2016’s Amazonian adventure film, The Lost City of Z, has received its first official trailer. Starring Brad Pitt, the new sci-fi film was originally scheduled for a January 2019 release, was pushed back to Memorial Day weekend, most recently delayed again until  September. After being shrouded in an aura of mystery due to no promotional or marketing campaigns, fans have now received a better look at the upcoming film. The plot follows Army Corps. engineer Rory McBride (Pitt) as he “travels to the outer edges of the solar system” to discover what happened to his father (Tommy Lee Jones) during his mission to Neptune, further attempting to “unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet.”

You can watch Ad Astra‘s first official trailer above. The film arrives in theaters on September 20. Stay tuned as more information surrounding the film’s plot are likely to be revealed in the near future.
