AAPE+ Offers More Athleisure-Heavy Gear for SS19
Also introducing the new POTENTIAL RL sneaker.
After introducing its inaugural athleisure-heavy AAPE+ line last year, BAPE‘s diffusion line AAPE by A Bathing Ape is gearing up for the Spring/Summer 2019 season with some new apparel and footwear offerings.
This time around, the tech-centric pieces include brightly-colored jackets, T-shirts and shorts in two separate collections named “City Hunt” and “Training Club.” The former includes breathable and reflective material while the latter incorporates moisture-wicking and functional fabrics to keep the wearer dry. Instead of its signature circular AAPE motif, an updated triangular-shaped logo can be found emblazoned onto all the pieces.
Footwear will also play a big role in the drop. Instead of the silhouettes we’ve seen earlier this year, AAPE+ has introduced a new model dubbed POTENTIAL RL (Runner Low) dressed in three different colorways of yellow, white and black. The upper portion of the shoe utilizes a breathable double jacquard fabric while the sole uses lightweight TPU for support and adaptability.
The entire AAPE+ by A Bathing Ape Spring/Summer 2019 collection is available now exclusively in Hong Kong, while the POTENTIAL RL sneakers will land July 12 at AAPE’s flagship in Los Angeles.
