A pristine 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta by Scaglietti is heading to the auction block later this year. One of just 1,383 produced, the vintage Ferrari is helmed as one of the greatest supercars ever built and is known for its admired performance and as Don Johnson’s first car-of-choice in Miami Vice.
This particular 365 GBT/B Daytona comes in Ferrari’s go-to shade of red and features chrome detailing on its Scaglietti-designed body. The vehicble is also equipped with yellow-tinged pop-up headlights, wire rims and chrome bumpers, and is fitted with a 4.4-liter V12 engine.
The 356 GTB/4 Daytona was the most expensive and powerful Ferrari production sports car when it released in the late ’60s. One lucky buyer can expect a power output of 352 BHP and 318 lb-ft of torque — enough to propel the car to 174 MPH. Inside, the Ferrari is finished in plush black leather and features all of the car’s original equipment, such as a three-spoke steering wheel, big round dials and a retro cassette player.
The 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta by Scaglietti will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s during its Auburn Fall sale from August 29 to September 1. The car is estimated to sell between $525,000 USD and $625,000 USD.
In other news, Ferrari has provided a closer look at the SF90 plug-in hybrid’s unique powertrain system.
