YMC Takes Inspiration Psychedelia, De La Soul & French Erotica for "High Summer" Collection
Bold graphics contrast understated staples.
London-based label YMC has unveiled its mid-season collection for the upcoming warmer months. The capsule is titled “High Summer” and is comprised of loose, easy shirts, relaxed trousers, sweatshirts, blousons and knee-length shorts, each delivered in a variety of soft summery hues.
Standout pieces from the mid-season collection include the Floral Malick Shirt — a psychedelia-themed piece featuring artwork inspired by De La Soul — and the Ecru colored human body spell-out logo T-shirt. YMC also delivers a number of two-piece outfits, seeing matching cargo pants and a bowling jacket in olive and a washed-out sky blue T-shirt and shorts combination.
Bold graphics on T-shirts are inspired by a 1960s French underground erotic art publication and the Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg song “Soixante neuf; année érotique,” with each mixing a number of bold primary colors against a soft Ecru hue. Take a look at YMC’s relaxed mid-season offerings in the gallery above, and head to its website and physical stores in London and Seoul to shop the collection.
