Hiroki Nakamura documents his latest source of inspiration for visvim‘s current stream of releases for Spring/Summer 2019. Taking techniques from the art of collaging, hand-woven fabrics from the Southwestern-Chinese Buyi tribe are combined with consistent cochineal-dyed polka dot material along with kasezome skein-dyed checked slub linen material.

The collage of materials makes its way onto items like the Christo, Roland Jogger, FBT, MECKEL PARKA, and THORSON JKT. On top of the eye-catching patterns, each piece is further enhanced with hand-sewn sashiko stitching and Gara-bou-spun fabric — giving each of the items a special, uneven and bumpy texture. Head on over to visvim.tv for the full dissertation.
