Dior Men’s creative director Kim Jones has opened up in an interview, discussing the late Alexander McQueen and his title as the “king of collaborations.”

In the 49-minute-long interview for SHOWstudio‘s In Fashion series, Jones discusses the designer’s various creative processes he goes through when designing pieces for his collections. Kim Jones has recently taken on a variety of tasks such as editing A Magazine Curated By‘s 19th issue and starring in RIMOWA‘s latest campaign and is discussing his illustrious career.

One notable conversation spans from the Dior oblique pattern and how he wanted to reinvent the design on modern garments, as well as how one button from the 1950s inspired key pieces in his collections. The designer also goes on to talk about his fascination with Japanese culture and its practices, as well as his frequent collaborators, famous record collection and Central Saint Martins education. Watch the entire interview above.
