Gucci Releasing Book of PF 19 Collection Shot in Ancient Italian Cities
In collaboration with Harmony Korine.
Gucci is adding more literature to its repertoire, announcing the upcoming release of a new visual book, Gucci by Harmony Korine. Korine, an American film director, collaborated with the fashion house to showcase the label’s Pre-Fall 2019 collection amid the ancient towns of Ercolano (Herculaneum) and Pompei (Pompeii) in Southern Italy, which were personally selected by creative director Alessandro Michele.
In addition to photos of the PF19 range, the work features front and back covers that were illustrated by Korine himself. The spines of the book were also specially designed so that when sitting next to each other they form a unique image. A slipcase that has been stamped with more of Korine’s drawings offers a special enclosure.
Gucci by Harmony Korine will be published by London-based company IDEA Books and is expected to be available beginning this June. It will be sold at the Gucci Garden in Florence, as well as the brand’s Gucci Wooster Bookstore in New York.
This edition comes on the heels of several other artistic publications from the label. It spotlighted longtime collaborator Dapper Dan and his beloved uptown New York neighborhood with Dapper Dan’s Harlem in January.
