Beast Coast Conduct a Melodic Reggae Experiment on "Snow In The Stadium"
Their ‘Escape From New York’ album is almost here.
With just a few days to go until Beast Coast‘s first full-length studio project as a collective arrives, the acclaimed East Coast crew is serving up one last taste of the LP. Specifically, the hip-hop supergroup follows up their impressive Rap City cypher by debuting a new, reggae-influenced single dubbed “Snow In the Stadium.” For this track, fans can expect new lyrical salvos from Erick Arc Elliott (who also produced the cut), Joey Bada$$, Meechy Darko, Kirk Knight, CJ Fly and Issa Gold.
“Beast Coast gang, know where I’m from / Acid tab right on my tongue / This my 47th blunt / Promise this ain’t what you want,” Joey Bada$$ raps, blending brags and boasts with psychedelically-tinged drug-talk. “Live my life, gotta’ have my fun / Remember way back, I ain’t have no funds / Now I lay back with a bad little something / And it all makes sense, so we all make something / Walk with a chip on my shoulder / Knowing we shifting the culture / N***a you know, can’t say that I never told you / Beast Coast, we takin’ it global.”
“I get high off life but they won’t let me be / Been on my side, I show no deputy / Drink up all night, preferably Hennessy / Please pass my light, the weed will set you free,” Meechy Darko adds for his own “Snow In The Stadium” verse. “Puff puff, then fly, move like a refugee / My gun, my knife, the bare necessities.”
