adidas Consortium Revives Classic LXCON OG Runner
Harnessing the power of the Torsion system.
Despite the recent resurgence of contemporary LXCON designs, adidas Consortium is retro runner back to its roots. For Summer ‘19, the sneaker giant is introducing the LXCON OG, a proper reissue of the classic ’90s running shoe.
Kicking off a series of Torsion-powered summer kicks, Consortium are reviving the classic LXCON silhouette, complete with the original white, black and blue colorway. A mix of leather, mesh and manmade textiles informs the upper, evocative of cutting edge ’90s design, while the Jacques Chassaing-designed Torsion system informs the sleek, deliberately retro mid- and outsole. Oversized Three Stripes branding spotlights the tube construction around the vamp, with a throwback adidas logo fixed to the rear underlines the overbranded aesthetic.
adidas Consortium’s LXCON OG hits stores and adidas’ website on June 1.
Recently, Consortium introduced several UltraBOOST 19 silhouettes inspired by retro adidas models.
