Replica of Wagon Queen Family Truckster From 'National Lampoon's Vacation' Sold for Six Figures
“You didn’t order the Metallic Pea?”

A superfan of the cult classic National Lampoon’s Vacation dropped six figures at the Barret-Jackson Palm Beach auction over the weekend, to purchase a replica of the famed Wagon Queen Family Truckster for a whopping $100,100 USD.
Based on the 1981 Ford LTD wagon, the replica carries the original 5.0-liter V8 engine, upgraded with extra lighting on the front and rear along with wood paneling on all sides. The Family Truckster remains true to the movie’s details, adding small efforts such as the Wagon Queen logos and actress Beverly D’Angelo’s signature on a spare glovebox lid.
National Lampoon’s Vacation premiered in the summer of 1983 starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo. The story follows the Griswolds and father Clark’s (Chase) desire to spend more time with his family during the holidays. The Wagon Queen Family Truckster comes into the picture after Clark’s original car order falls through, but the wagon proves to be trusty as they drive from Chicago to Southern California for the perfect summer family road trip.
