Set to arrive on screens on November 12.
UPDATE: The first images of The Mandalorian have now been officially released. Check out the tweet below for them, or head over to starwars.com for more info on the upcoming series and a breakdown of the panel during Star Wars Celebration. A full trailer has also dropped, which you can now watch above. The series is set to debut November 12.
ORIGINAL STORY (April 16, 2019): After a first look was revealed back in October 2018, new images from the upcoming Star Wars-spin off The Mandalorian have now been released. The images show characters including Greef (played by Carl Weathers), Cara Dune (Gina Carano) and the Mandalorian himself (Pedro Pascal), although none of the images show the title character without his mask.
The images were released to coincide with Star Wars Celebration, which also saw the premiere of a new trailer, a full-scene clip and a behind-the-scenes featurette. While these clips are yet to be fully released, Gizmodo has described the plot points hinted at in the trailer.
Opening in a cantina with Greef and the Mandalorian, the trailer also introduces characters played by Werner Herzog, Giancarlo Esposito and director Taika Waititi. Back in October, executive producer Jon Favreau described the show as being “set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
You can read the full breakdown of the trailer over on the Gizmodo site, and expect the full clip to drop ahead of The Mandalorian‘s November 12 release date.
