'Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker' Trailer Is Finally Here
The Skywalker Saga comes to its conclusion.
Lucasfilm has finally announced the official title for Star Wars Episode IX alongside a brand new trailer showcasing what’s to come.
The trailer for Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker showcases Daisy Ridley‘s Rey standing in the desert with a narration of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) telling her ”we’ve passed on all we know” and that the upcoming battle is her fight alone. A vehicle aggressively hovers toward Rey before she begins sprinting ahead of it and diving face-first toward its cockpit with her lightsaber in tow.
We then see some shots of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), the new Supreme Leader, aggressively slicing down a victim and catching him on his lightsaber’s hilt. We also see Rey reunite with General Leia (Carrie Fisher), a touching moment reflecting the tragic passing of the actor. Amongst shots of Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, and Billie Dee Williams‘ return as Lando, we get an ominous glimpse of a destroyed spacecraft out in the ocean before Hamill says ”no one’s ever really gone.” The screen then goes to black as an evil laugh reverberates.
