Vincent Van Gogh’s Masterful ‘Sunflowers’ Paintings to Go on Display This Summer
Slated to launch this June at the Van Gogh Museum.
One of the most famous series in Vincent van Gogh’s prolific practice is certainly his Sunflowers paintings. A selection of these works by the Post-Impressionist painter will be the focus of a momentous new exhibition at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Aptly entitled “Van Gogh and the Sunflowers,” the presentation will explore van Gogh’s painting methods, color studies, and the flower’s significance to the artist. Moreover, the exhibition will also highlight the conservation processes of the masterpieces alongside the pivotal research by industry specialists to meticulously preserve the works throughout the last couple of decades.
“The public will also have a first opportunity to see the back of the masterpiece, including the wooden strip that Van Gogh himself added to create more space for the sunflowers,” added the Van Gogh Museum in a statement.
