Jimmy Kimmel Will Reboot 'All In The Family' and 'The Jeffersons' For a Live Primetime Special
Starring Woody Harrelson and Jamie Foxx as Archie Bunker and George Jefferson, respectively.

Jimmy Kimmel is rebooting Norman Lear’s critically acclaimed comedy series All in the Family and The Jeffersons live for one night in a primetime special on ABC.
The tribute episode stars Woody Harrelson and Jamie Foxx as Archie Bunker and George Jefferson, respectively. Marisa Tomei (Spider-Man: Far From Home) and comedian Wanda Sykes will play wives, Edith Bunker and Louise Jefferson. Ellie Kemper will play Gloria Stivic while Will Ferrell will appear as Tom Willis. An episode from each original series will be recreated with James Burrows serving as director for both episodes.
Lear and Kimmel will host the live event, with Brent Miler, Adam McKay, Justin Theroux, and Ferrell slated as executive producers. “The fact that a group of Oscar winners eagerly agreed to play these iconic characters is a testament to the greatness of these shows and their creator, Norman Lear,” said Kimmel. He also described the project as a “dream come true.”
All in the Family, originally debuted in 1971 during the post-civil rights era, which presented political and social conversations in America. The show was so successful that it spun off into another show called The Jeffersons in 1975, the first TV series to feature an interracial couple.
All In The Family and The Jeffersons will air May 22 from 8:00-9:30 pm EST.
In other entertainment news, Jason Momoa slapped one of the co-creators of Game of Thrones in HBO Backstories video.
