Following up last fall’s Diplomats album Diplomatic Ties, Cam’ron is resetting his sights on his solo career. Following up his 2017 project The Program, the NYC legend is planning on delivering a sequel-tape known as The Program 2; to promote and introduce it, Cam’ron is serving up an expansive 11-minute video for its Disco Black and Vellz-assisted lead single “Choppers.”

“I wanted to shoot something cinematic that told a story to kick off The Program 2,” Cam’ron shares in a statement released to FADER. “The mini-movie is just the preview…Shout out Disco Black and Vellz.”

“There’s good and bad things that have happened in the rap game the past 14 years,” Cam’ron previously explained to Interview Magazine for a November 2018 interview, reflecting on the rap game’s development and evolution in recent years. “A good thing is access—a kid can just make music in his room and toss it up on the internet. When we were coming up, we had to hustle to get our music and mixtapes out there. We had to get someone to print up these CDs. We had to put them in the shops and hit the pavement. I think that helped us learn the ropes, which kids these days don’t necessarily get to do. The bad that’s come with it is that fake dudes can get exposed, but still be successful. People don’t care about your reputation anymore on social media. The streets will still catch up with you though.”

You can check out Cam’ron’s Brendan Cochrane-directed video for “Choppers” above, and expect The Program 2 to arrive later this year.
