BEAMS Drops Inventive, Overbranded MLB Capsule Collection
More over-the-top team logos.
On the heels of February’s patchwork hat, BEAMS reunites with MLB for another array of mash-up gear. The capsule offers an array of wardrobe staples remixed with intertwined logos from a wide array of MLB teams.
Though not as wacky as the recent Crocs collaboration, the collection does offer some out-there items, including a disjointed baseball tee and matching cap, each emblazoned with various Major League Baseball team logos, regardless of rivalry — see the Yankees and Red Sox logos side-by-side on the shirt. Elsewhere, BEAMS’ preferred prep and trad influences yield a polished button down and chinos embroidered with tiny logos of the teams. Like the baseball shirt, these items are crafted in partnership with Majestic, the official supplier of MLB gear.
Naturally, even more accessories accompany the overbranded goods. A trio of timeless hats, provided by MLB partner ’47, sport black watch plaid or neutral chambray textiles, with stylized “BROOKLYN,” “SAN FRANCISCO,” and “NEW YORK” verbiage at the crown. Finally, a pair of navy or white socks completes the array, woven with MLB branding and 15 names of the 30 MLB teams. These are the only garment not crafted by an official MLB partner, instead made to exacting standards in Japan by sport sock provider ROSTER.
