BEAMS & Mizuno's KAZOKU Project To Drop "WAVE CREATION WAVE KNIT" Sneaker

Japanese shoe brand Mizuno is teaming up with street fashion imprint and retailer BEAMS to provide a unique “WAVE CREATION WAVE KNIT” sneaker as part of its “KAZOKU Project.” The project, which was launched by the footwear brand last year, seeks to collaborate alongside famed sneaker retailers across the globe with a variety of unique models that have been brought back from the archives. With the new collaboration, both Mizuno and BEAMS are reviving a sports-casual sneaker that totes an exotic sole unit.

The upper utilizes a gray and black checkered pattern in a knit material, further layered with a silver Mizuno branded cage that is met with similarly colored 3M stabilizers on the heel. The upper also comes complete with a neoprene-like tongue that totes more branding. Moving lower, the midsole is emblazoned with a “BEAMS” logo on the lateral side, leading down to the hollowed-out outsole in black. More co-branding hits are located on the insole in vibrant contrasting red, with another BEAMS logo located on the rear pull tab.

You can check out the upcoming sneaker in the gallery above. They will be releasing via BEAMS Tokyo flagships on May 4, with a set retail price of ¥21,000 JPY (approximately $189 USD).
