KRAKATAU Brings Life & Color to Techwear in SS19 Collection
Captured in a lookbook of soaring stones and simplicity.
St.Petersburg staple KRAKATAU has delivered another techwear collection for Spring/Summer 2019, shot in a lookbook mimicking the experimental and ballistic nature of its designs.
Improving the construction of its pieces to achieve a waterproofness of up to 3000mm, KRAKATAU brings a collection of outerwear pieces that tackle the elements with modernized fabrics, clean cuts and multifunctional looks. Each piece combines taped seams with fabrics such as laminated cotton, eco-friendly non-woven Tyvek and translucent rip-stop, constructing QUBIT jackets, MISHIMA raincoats and light softshell jackets and pants.
Standout pieces from the collection include the “Cardinal Red” laminated jacket, a PU-coated crinkled long-line jacket that singlehandedly marks KRAKATAU as an energetic take on techwear. Other notable pieces include the grey hooded MISHIMA rain coat, featuring a side-body zipper, and the thin black raincoat, showing the Russian label can still do techwear in its archetype dark aesthetic.
The lookbook — featuring equally technical sneakers such as the UNDERCOVER x Nike React Element 87 and Converse x Off-White Chuck 70’s — is set against a cloud of floating stones and viewable above. Shop the entire collection over at krakatau.com now.
