Heritage watchmakers Casio and its ultra-rugged G-SHOCK line unveiled a slew of watches during this year’s Baselworld expo, and one in particular is simply galactic.
The chronometric MTGB1000RB-2A model receives an ultra-vibrant rainbow effect case, featuring every color imaginable around its chassis while dial markings, numerics, inner digits and more range between pinks, blues, greens and even gold. According to the press release, the MT-G features Triple G Resist technology and core guard structure for an unrivaled strength and rigidity while maintaining a sleek look and lightweight feel. The sapphire crystal ensures a scratch resistant lifespan, and a non-reflective coating provides maximum visibility in the harshest of lighting conditions. Tech-wise, its Two-Way Time Sync feature and Bluetooth technology allows for superior accuracy with self-adjusting Multi-Band 6 atomic timekeeping. Lastly, G-SHOCK’s standard specifications include 200M water and shock resistance, Full Auto LED Light and world time settings with 39 timezones and 27 cities.
The result is a watch not only highly functional and reliable, but with a luxurious feel and an eye-popping design reserved for special occasions and events.
The Casio G-SHOCK MTGB1000RB-2A “Rainbow” will be available in highly limited quantities beginning in June for a retail price of $1,000 USD. Shop the watch at Casio.com.
If you’re looking for a bit of nostalgia, G-SHOCK is also releasing a group of retro translucent editions.
