Woody Harrelson & Kevin Costner Hunt Bonnie & Clyde in Netflix's ‘The Highwaymen’
A retelling of the infamous story.
Netflix doesn’t look to be slowing down on its original content for the new year, having already teased the forthcoming Triple Frontier and The Dirt films. Now the streaming giant adds one more to its lineup with The Highwaymen starring seasoned film veterans Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner as a pair of former Texas Rangers searching for the infamous Bonnie and Clyde.
This new take on the legendary story, directed by John Lee Hancock, will be told through the perspective of the lawmen Frank Hamer (Costner) and Maney Gault (Harrelson) who hunted down the bank-robbing lovers without any of latest FBI and forensic technology, relying heavily on old school skills and their gut instincts. Based on true events, the film also takes a look at the duo’s last ditch efforts to hunt down Bonnie and Clyde.
Along with Harrelson and Costner, The Highwaymen stars Kathy Bates as Texas Governor Ma Ferguson, John Carroll Lynch and Kim Dickens. The Highwaymen will see a limited release in theaters on March 15 before landing on Netflix March 29.
