Saba's Pivot Gang Drops Visual for New Single "Jason Statham, Pt. 2"
Ahead of their first major project since 2013.
Chicago hip-hop collective Pivot Gang is back on the map with a brand new single and music video for “Jason Statham, Pt. 2” – presumably the first single off the crew’s upcoming album.
The new Addison Wright-directed video offers some luxuriously-aligned editing and splicing techniques that match well with the lyrics and beat provided by rappers Joseph Chilliams, Saba, and MFnMelo and producers daedaePIVOT and SqueakPIVOT. The visual starts off exploring the immensely harsh winter that Chicago saw this past season by overlaying various news audio clips, blending into the ethereal beat and flows of the gang as they vibe out making snow angels. As the group aptly shared on Instagram: “f*** a polar vortex!”
Pivot Gang’s front-man Saba had a menacing 2018, dropping one of the hottest albums of the year titled Care For Me. Based on the new single “Jason Statham, Pt. 2” and its accompanying video, the collective’s new album, which is the first major project they’ve put out since 2013, should be just as well put together.
