Proper’s history alongside the Vans design team is long and grueling — the unique retailer has had a variety of fruitful past collaborations from various reissues to its “Tatanka” capsule, now reuniting with the California lifestyle imprint to create a unique “1 of 1” Vans Vault collection limited to 300 pairs.
The new project utilizes Van’s Comfycush LX technology, tapping the Sk8-Hi, Authentic, and Slip-on models to provide 100 iterations of each shoe, with each individual pair being completely unique and different than the others. When Proper’s Jordan Curry approached the concept, the question of manufacturing came about — how do you expect to craft 300 unique shoes that are all uniquely different? His answer: individually by hand.
The uniquely colored-blocked sneakers are nothing short of an amazing project — and is arguably one of the most unique Vans release to ever grace the world of sneaker collaborations. Each shoe is one of a kind, completely unique from its predecessors and successors — no two pairs the same.
The “1 of 1” collection is set to drop this Saturday, February 16 at Proper’s Long Beach and Houston locations, as well as online via Proper’s web store. Each pair will be picked randomly according to your size and model choice.
