An Originator of the Chunky Trend Returns With Globe's CT-IV Classic

Bringing back a shoe that arguably fostered the contemporary chunky trend, Globe reintroduces the CT-IV Classic in a selection of new bold and muted colors, alongside unisex sizing.

Originally, a disgruntled Chet Thomas left his old sponsorship in exchange for Globe. Given free rein on the terms of design, Thomas fabricated a sneaker that would be equal parts tech and comfortable; a silhouette capable of cushioning harsh impacts. As skateboarding progressed, innovation made the models, and others like it, a peripheral choice to the wave of vulcanized, slim-profiled sneakers. In a cyclical fashion, modern culture has provided room for a resurgence of the bulky kicks from yesteryear. The iconic skateboarding brand looks to leverage this embrace by redistributing the community a niche model that helped set today’s stylistic pace.

Scroll the images above, and head to Globe’s website to purchase and find stockists. Also, be sure to check out The Berrics for more info on the shoe.
