MAGIC STICK Latest Collection Is Collaboration With 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker'
Showcasing the triple trilogy in its Fall/Winter 2019 lookbook.
Japanese brand MAGIC STICK reveals its latest collection to the public, with all items revolving around the recently released Star Wars film The Rise of Skywalker.
For its Fall/Winter 2019 collection, MAGIC STICK releases a selection of streetwear staples that reference the blockbuster film, with terminology and phrasing as well as graphics culling from the ninth Star Wars film. Specifically, the brand’s designer Naotaka Konno has stated his admiration for the franchise, thus claiming the partnership is a dream for him.
The release is divided into two collections: the “Classic Collection” contains original trilogy graphics and characters, while the “Episode.9 Latest Collection” naturally displays references from the latest film. The former shows the Cantina Band performing in their Mos Eisley atmosphere alongside Jabba the Hutt while the latter items display the movie poster for the Rise feature. References like “The First Order” and lines “Who Do You Want to Be?” all set a black, “dark side” vibe for the collection.
The items are hitting stores this week as the movie has released, such as at Tsutaya Shoten in Daikanyama, Tokyo, Japan and at MAGIC STICK TOKYO. The “Classic Collection” released first on December 20 while the “Episode.9 Latest Collection” will release tomorrow, December 26. For more on MAGIC STICK, the brand collaborated with DOUBLE FOOT WEAR on a pair of leather Chukka boots.
