Louis Vuitton is bringing the next installment of its limited-edition Objets Nomades furniture collection to Design Miami this week; the the French luxury house will premiere Andrew Kudless’ debut designs, making Kudless the first American designer to partner on the range. Kudless has reinterpreted a typical book shelf for the assortment, opting to use curved edges and geometric lines to present what he calls the “Swell Wave Shelf.”
Crafted from polished oak wood, the fixture was built with curvilinear shapes that inspired by the eventual erosion of rocks battered by wind and water. Each shelf is held together by sturdy leather straps, which offer bright touches through shades like royal blue and red. Kudless’ piece will be underscored by other unique decor items, as Louis Vuitton will also unveil never-before-seen furnishings as part of the exclusive installation.
The Objects Nomades collection will be located at Paradise Plaza in Miami from December 4-8 during the brand’s “Atelier Louis Vuitton Miami” showcase, an appointment-only exhibition highlighting luxury items like exotic handbags and the new Sneaker Trunk. Louis Vuitton has taken its Objets Nomades capsule to other locations across the globe this year, bringing the high-end pieces to Hong Kong in March for a retrospective presentation.
