Yung Raja Releases Tongue-In-Cheek Visual for "Mad Blessings"
The Singaporean rapper’s first release under Def Jam South East Asia.
Singaporean rapper Yung Raja has flown onto the hip-hop scene over the past year, commanding a riotous audience across South East Asia. The bilingual rapper continues to exude his prowess in both Tamil and English, reminiscing on South Indian cuisine, dances, and more to boast a persona that’s as serious as it is often hilarious. After recently signing with Def Jam’s new South East Asia division, Yung Raja has now released his latest track entitled “Mad Blessings,” releasing an eccentric new visual alongside the cut.
As a first-generation Singaporean, his locality remains holistically intact, whereby infusing his family’s origins across his various singles. In his new track, he continues with this, celebrating his heritage and identity that aptly represent his own origins. Throughout the video, traditional Tamil Nadu classical dancers are highlighted in the backdrop as Raja takes tongue-in-cheek jabs at Indian tropes of restaurant owners, parents, and more.
