ASICS Taps 'Transformers' for Special Edition GEL-Lyte V
Featuring interchangeable Decepticon and Autobot panels.

Japanese-born brand ASICS has teamed up with popular toy franchise Transformers for a brand new take on the shoe brand’s famed GEL-Lyte 5 silhouette. Continuing to use the updated take on the 1993 model, the monosock-toting sneaker continues to integrate the brand’s renowned GEL cushioning and shock-absorbing technology.
The collaborative take on the sneaker comes in a base gray color, featuring interchangeable panels that cover the hell and lacing portions. The left shoe features the Autobots logo in red, with the right shoe featuring the same logo in a Bumblebee-esque logo — “Optimus Prime” is also included in metallic silver typography near the bottom. The rear heel panels feature similar odes to the robotic faction, the left featuring a royal blue, with the right featuring a vibrant yellow. Other interchangeable panels are also included which match the Decepticons various colors, with “Megatron” emblazoned in red.
You can take a look at the shoes via the gallery above. They will be dropping via Billy’s Tokyo on November 15 for approximately $130 USD.
