HYPEBEAST & Medicom Toy Drop Topographical BE@RBRICK Capsule
Bold cartographic renderings.
Medicom Toy has returned with a collaboration with HYPEBEAST featuring an exclusive BE@RBRICK and a set of accessories. Each piece in the capsule is emblazoned with topographical renderings, symbolizing the expanding editorial landscape of HYPEBEAST over the last 14 years.
Coming in sizes of 1000%, 400% and 100%, the HYPEBEAST BE@RBRICK is the capsule’s centerpiece. Set against a black foundation, dimensional contour lines of yellow, orange, red, blue and green gloss over the figure in a series of contrasting hues. Each color denotes specific types of terrain, like red, which represents man-made infrastructures, while blue, for example, indicates water zones. The thickness and spatial distance of each line help tell the shape of the depicted geography, detailing things like flatness and elevation. As a final note, “HYPEBEAST” branding is stamped subtly at the side of the left leg. The cartographic concept is carried over on a Fabrick-made pair of slippers, a cushion and a flat two-way pouch to round up the concise capsule.
The HYPEBEAST x MEDICOM TOY BE@RBRICK capsule will be available online on November 22, 9 a.m. EST exclusively at HBX, ranging from $40 – $700 USD. Those in Japan will also have a chance to purchase the collectibles at Parco’s new “2G” Studio in Shibuya, Tokyo.
