UPDATE (October 29, 2019): Rumors circulated last week that Popeyes’ popular chicken sandwich would soon be returning, and the fast food chain has now confirmed the news. In a press release shared yesterday, the company announced that it would be bringing the famous food back starting on November 3.

“Following its debut in August and quick rise to fame, the Chicken Sandwich was a massive hit selling out nationwide — dramatically surpassing even the most optimistic sales forecasts,” Popeyes said in a statement. According to the restaurant, the sandwich will be available in locations nationwide once restocked, with the hopes that they will be back “for good.”

In September, it was reported that the sandwich nearly doubled store traffic, selling close to 1,000 per day.

ORIGINAL STORY (October 23, 2019): After selling out just weeks after its launch, Popeyes‘ extremely popular chicken sandwich is rumored to be coming back sometime early November.

According to reports, the fried chicken chain has hired an additional 400 employees to bring the menu item back at 150 of its locations. The extra employees are said to guarantee that each store will have up to two people dedicated to preparing the chicken sandwich.

Incredibly selling out weeks ahead of schedule, Popeyes was forced to hold a “BYOB (Bun)” campaign to meet customer demands with “substitute sandwiches” following the unexpected shortage. Eager fans can now download the Popeyes app in the App Store or Google Play and sign up for push notifications to be alerted once the highly sought after menu item returns.

Stay tuned for more details regarding the return of Popeyes Chicken Sandwich.
