Presented in both an airy white with grey accents and a stark black, the shoes may be a Reebok Workout in name, but they’re much more akin to the Reebok Classic Leather in style, as indicated by the midfoot overlays, toebox shape, sleek midsole, and plug-equipped outsole. Although the application of hues on each pair is decidedly on the monochromatic side of the spectrum, closer inspection reveals that they’re packed full of special details.
Things are kicked off in resounding fashion on the tongue tag, which features a signature tri-ferg logo overlaid with a wave graphic. The tongue’s lining is embellished too, presenting Palace’s signature cheeky humor by way of a text hit that reads “Trad Roots I Won Trod,” with a slightly smaller “JK Special Edition” placed directly underneath. A printed blue repeating text hit and drawing appear on the insoles. While the Reebok-and-Union-Jack detail remains intact on the right shoe’s medial midfoot, the left shoe presents a Palace stamp in the same font. For a finishing touch, each shoe is completed with a translucent outsole that covers a blown-up version of the same cartoon-style graphic from the tongue.
Each pair will release on palaceskateboards.com and at Palace’s retail locations in Europe and the US on Friday, October 11 at 11 a.m. EDT. After that, they’ll roll out to Japan on Saturday, October 12 at 11 a.m. JST. Pricing information is unknown.
