Shortly after unveiling its patchwork-heavy Katsuragi Nime “Gypsy” Pants, Japanese stalwart KAPITAL is back, this time with a set of upcycled cardigans inspired by vintage military surplus.

Coming in colors of olive and black, the cardigans have been paneled with both soft cotton and smooth chino-like textile. Utilitarian elements of old army garments have been channeled, equipping the silhouette with a total of eight pockets across the front body. The left topmost detail of the piece is a transparent nametag slot framed by delicate cowhide. Just below it are a series of small to large snap-button pockets that have been decorated with weathered patches — one on the middle right horizontal compartment and two on the bottom left. Bordering the collars and the central closure is a ribbed texture that’s also seen along the cuffs and hem. As a final note, the rest of the cardigan is made up of slightly discolored cotton fabrics, giving the garments an aesthetically aged look and feel.

The KAPITAL Journey Remake Chino Cotton Knit Game Cardigans are currently available at kapital-webshop.jp for $716 USD.

Elsewhere, SOPHNET. Tokyo is celebrating its 20th-anniversary with its fall-ready Carhartt WIP capsule.
