Jacob Dahlgren & Acne Studios' Striped Capsule Wants You to Be an Abstract Painting
Spanning sweaters, scarves, beanies and homeware.

Acne Studios has enlisted Swedish artist Jacob Dahlgren for a Fall/Winter 2019 capsule collection centered around stripes.
Dahlgren is known for his love of stripes having worn striped T-shirts every day since 2001, which he documents on his Instagram account. His longstanding history with the simplistic look has been translated into this capsule, adding stripes to sweaters, beanies, blankets, wallpaper, and a serving tray.
Jonny Johansson, creative director of Acne Studios said in a press release, “Jacob is such an interesting character, on the borderline between art and fashion… With this collection, we tried to get into his world as much as possible, creating a whole three-dimensional world of stripes.”
The stripes used in this collection are completely unique to Acne Studios, as Dahlgren developed their dimensions and color combinations exclusively for the Swedish imprint. These patterns now adorn merino wool scarves, finely knitted wool Kassio sweaters and the selection of homeware pieces.
Speaking on the capsule, Jacob Dahlgren said, “For me, striped T-shirts are like abstract paintings. When I wear a striped T-shirt, I become the abstract painting. With this Acne Studios collection, it’s great to think of all the people who’ll wear the pieces, becoming like abstract paintings that move around the world.”
