Towards the beginning of summer, J. Cole, J.I.D, Bas and EarthGang linked up with Atlanta rapper Young Nudy for a Revenge of the Dreamers III single titled “Down Bad.” One of 18 tracks featured on Dreamville Records‘ recent compilation project, “Down Bad” serves as one of Revenge of the Dreamers III‘s opening salvos and was produced by Pluss. Now, the record’s star-studded list of collaborators is coming together once more, heading to Atlanta for the official “Down Bad” video.

“Down Bad” was originally introduced to fans during the first couple months of this year, when footage of its studio sessions and initial live performances emerged on social media and YouTube. Upon its June release, the album version of the “Down Bad” single debuted at #75 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and later peaked at #64.

“I think that what makes us different is that is that all of our artists sound different, and come from different places,” J. Cole’s manager and Dreamville Records co-owner Ibrahim “IB” Hamad told Variety earlier this year, sharing his thoughts on what separates the Dreamville roster from other crews. “JID and EarthGang is from Atlanta, Bas is from Queens, Ari is from Washington, D.C. There is no one unifying sound. The only thing they have in common is this sense of reality in their music. Something you can feel, something that is real, not made up by a company or committee, not fictional. Good emotions, bad or sad emotions. That’s what I think connects them with Cole. He has a thing for real stories … You can be a super talented producer and songwriter and you can do the very best raps. But what you can’t always describe is real feeling.”
