Modernizing classic silhouettes.

Following up last year’s FW18 lineup, 417 BY EDIFICE is back with its new Fall 2019 collection, comprised of a range of minimal palettes over warm sartorial layers.

Encompassing silhouettes like mac coats, double-breasted blazers, knit sweaters, slacks, vests and cardigans, the series takes on a slew of fall season layers that have been modernized through a distinctive Japanese lens. Each piece in the collection has been given a relatively muted palette, rendered in such tones as brown and navy plaid, soft hazelnut, light blue, grey, beige, olive, grey and black.

One noteworthy piece is a grey and blue plaid shirt. Using Pendleton textiles, the shirt arrives in thick wool, complemented by a boxy cut, while nuanced details like black buttons and two flap pockets at the chest round up the piece. Another highlight is the reversible mac coat, which sees grey and black checks on one side and a solid grey shade on the reverse. Creamy marble-toned buttons at the center and sleeves offer a fitting accent to the jacket’s minimal look. Besides some of these classic silhouettes, other pieces like the nylon blazer, bucket hat, utility vest and three-pocket chore coat are quietly imbued with progressive materials that give the bespoke garments a contemporary sense of functionality.

The 417 BY EDIFICE Fall 2019 Collection is currently available at baycrews.jp, ranging from $45 – $198 USD.

Elsewhere, DIVINITIES has flipped pop culture icons into sartorial graphics with its Fall 2019 collection.
