UK Rap Collective House of Pharaohs Revisit First Tour in "Lit Like London" Video
A highlight from the group’s ‘Season II’ project.
The rise of hip-hop in the UK is no new narrative. With the likes of melodic-heavy rapper Octavian taking the region by storm, the locale’s long-standing grime scene has been expanding towards a more hip-hop influenced sound. This rings true for rap collective House of Pharaohs, a vibrant group of youth that is defying a variety of the nation’s rap-centric genres through expertly-tuned projects. Hailing from London, the six-part act has been revving up the city’s underground via energetically-forward releases and performances, accumulating a cult-like audience that keeps buzzing for more material. Returning from their recent video for “Gang,” the crew has now delivered a visual for another one of their Season II project highlights, this time revisiting their first tour in a new visual for “Lit Like London.”
Throughout the visual, show highlights and touring life are showcased, ringing true to the track’s name and the group’s unmatched energy. The rappers themselves—Sam Wise, Blaze, Bandanna, Kevin Taylor, AJ, and Danny—bring out a variety of flows, from Blaze’s drill-tinged delivery to Bandanna’s more melodically-pronounced cadence. Overall, the group’s strength presents itself in a diverse range of flows, encompassing the various sounds of grime and hip-hop that have developed within the island nation.
