'Batwoman' Pilot Details Have Emerged, Starring Ruby Rose
After her debut on ‘Elseworlds.’

Following her introduction on DC Comics’ Elseworlds crossover, The CW has ordered a pilot for a Ruby Rose-led Batwoman series. Emmy-winning Game of Thrones director David Nutter will helm the episode and is widely expected to be picked up by the network. The CW has released a description of the series, stating:
“Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane [Rose] soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”
Reaction toward Rose’s appearance was mixed. Some praised the character and actor for possibly being the first-ever superhero series led by a lesbian character and played by an openly gay actress. However, the actress received much ridicule for her casting, that she quit Twitter.
In other entertainment news, the release date trailer for The Punisher has arrived.
