A Clean Look at the Purlicue x Vans "Year of the Pig" Era and Old Skool Editions
Aka “The Fat Year.”

Vans recently revealed its collaborative capsule with Chinese brand Purlicue on a playful assortment of sneakers for “Year of the Pig,” and now we have a clean look at two of the offerings.
2019 marks the Chinese Zodiac’s “Pig” year, and thus is the theme for both the Vans Era and Old Skool models seen above. White and Red fill the uppers of both sneakers, while delightful details — gigantic midsole branding tags, detachable big side stripes and extra extra large laces — remark on the pig’s “fat”ness and symbolism for good luck. The Era subtly displays a red/white checkerboard pattern on the inner tongue, while the Old Skool utilizes the pattern across its foot wrap. A co-branded pig graphic is found on the insole of both sneakers as well as “The Fat Year” writing on the outsole for the final touches.
Look for the Purlicue x Vans “YOTP” Era and Old Skools at select retailers, like Suppa, now for approx. $100 USD.
