'Black Mirror: Bandersnatch' Is Full of Easter Eggs From Previous Seasons
Featuring spoilers.

Ever since Netflix released the feature length choose-your-own Black Mirror: Bandersnatch episode, viewers have been exploring the different plot lines and outcomes of their choices. Viewers have also stumbled across a number of easter eggs in the film, with links back to popular Black Mirror episodes from previous seasons appearing across the movie. You can read about some of the easter eggs below, but you might want to wait until you’ve seen it for yourself.
- Bandersnatch was directed by David Slade, who also directed the “Metalhead” episode from season four. As a nod to his previous episode, a poster for a game titled “Metl Hedd” and featuring the dog itself can be seen in the new episode, while there is also a brief shot of an 8-bit run-through of a dog chasing a human.
- Elsewhere, Stefan is treated at the Saint Juniper Medical Practice by his psychiatrist. This is a reference to both the award-winning “San Junipero” episode from Season 3, and the hospital in Season 4’s “Black Museum.”
- When Stefan first meets Colin at Tuckersoft, he is working on a game called Nohzdyve, which features a person falling off a cliff as they try to collect special badges and points. The game references the first episode of Season 3 — titled “Nosedive” — which sees people rated with a five-star system based on interactions. Over the course of the episode, the lead character’s ratings fall and she becomes a social outcast.
- If you pause the screen in Stefan’s room where he looks at the July calendar, there’s a newspaper clipping that reviews another game called “White Bear.” This is a reference the Season 2 Episode 2 of the same name. Further, the rectangular “sign” and glyph seen throughout Bandersnatch is pulled from the “White Bear” episode as well.
