"What's Life" Like for YBN Cordae?
A reflection on the past year.
Before starting to work on his solo debut, YBN Cordae dropped one more track before 2018 came to an end.
The young rapper gained considerable prestige after responding to J. Cole’s “1985.” Songs like “Fighting Temptations,” “Target,” his freestyle for the LA Lakers, and the release of YBN: Mixtape in fall 2018 helped to keep his momentum up. His recent track “What’s Life” concludes the artist’s success in the previous year.
Reflecting on the past year Cordae states, “I wrote this and was reminded of what’s really important.” The rapper utilizes the song to talk about the essence of love, belief and friendship.
