Inside L'art de l'automobile's Star-Studded "Out of Gasoline" Paris Pop-Up
Hosting cameos from Virgil Abloh, Verdy, Daniel Arsham, and more.
Arthur Kar’s automotive-inspired streetwear imprint L’art de l’automobile recently hosted an exhibition pop-up during Paris Fashion Week titled “Out of Gasoline.” Sporting a range of cameos from Kar’s friends and fans, including Virgil Abloh, Don C, Heron Preston, Verdy, Poggy, Daniel Arsham, and more, the special pop-up held tight to its unique automobile-themed backdrop. From gasoline tank drink dispensers to racing oil props and more, the exhibition highlighted the brands continued influence.
Visitors could purchase various pieces of graphic clothing that included a short sleeve t-shirt and a mock-necked crewneck. The graphic, which was utilized as a backdrop to the pop-up as well as placed upon the clothing, hosts a bold “Socony Vacuum” text in yellow that is paired with a petrol station-esque building donning the imprint’s name. It’s paired with other various car terminology near the bottom in a contrasting white.
