Hulu to Increase Prices Following Netflix's Price Spike
Will you be paying extra?

Following Netflix‘s price increase for all its US subscribers, Hulu has confirmed it will also be raising the prices for both new and existing subscribers.
Options in its ad-supported tier will see a price increase from $39.99 to $44.99 per month, which is expected as their ad revenue raked in a 45% increase in 2018. However, Hulu will be lowering its prices for the basic ad-supported streaming package while its ad-free video-on-demand option will stay at the same price at $11.99 per month. The pricing changes are confirmed to come into effect from February 26 for new customers; existing subscribers will see changes the next billing cycle after February 26.
No comment on the price changes from Hulu yet, but Netflix had this to say about its price increase: “We change pricing from time to time as we continue investing in great entertainment and improving the overall Netflix experience.”
In other entertainment news, BuzzFeed has had to cut 15% of its workforce.
