KIDILL Taps Punk Legend Siouxsie Sioux for FW19 Collection
The Banshees’ vocalist joins the Japanese brand for “TOKYO PUNK CHIC.”
Following KIDILL‘s graphic-heavy Spring/Summer 2019 collection, the punk-indebted brand has joined up with Siouxsie Sioux of Siouxsie & The Banshees fame for its Fall/Winter 2019 offering. Dubbed “TOKYO PUNK CHIC,” the collection is an evolution of the Japanese label’s core ideals by way of slouchy layers and playful patterns, with plenty of exaggerated cuts inspired by COMME des GARÇONS, which stocks KIDILL in its Trading Museum outpost.
Ranging from enormous work jackets to half-and-half plaid cardigans to fur-lined parkas, the collection delivers a variety of head-turningly bold patterns across a brief range of deconstructed punk staples. A fur-trimmed bomber jacket sports imagery of a Japanese torii gate, anarchy symbol and highly-questionable totemkampf skull, while a massive layered camouflage ensemble is elevated by huge pockets and Vivienne Westwood-inspired jewelry. Elsewhere, KIDILL’s signature hakama trousers are reimagined in patchwork tartan and pink cotton twill, styled alongside a Siouxsie Sioux-printed tee and richly-printed pajama-style sets,.
Expect the new collection to hit stockists like H. Lorenzo later this year.
