Capcom Releases Live-Action 'Resident Evil 2' Trailer
A homage to the series’ early live-action scenes.
The Resident Evil 2 remake will arrive January 25, and to pay homage to the original game’s commercial as well as its creator George A. Romero, Capcom released a new trailer utilizing live actors.
The live-action trailer is a tribute to the zombie-director-trendsetter, Romero, and his time creating the original game’s $1.5 million USD advertisement, which costed more than what it took to develop the game. The 1998 commercial only aired in Japan, and given its success, Romero was tapped to write and direct a Resident Evil movie. Although he created a script faithful to the source material, Capcom opted with Paul W.S. Anderson, who went on to create all six movies in the Resident Evil film franchise.
Resident Evil 2 will release for the PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One on January 25, 2019. You can pre-order your copy now at residentevil2.com.
