BlocBoy Is Suing Epic Games Over 'Fortnite' Usage of "Shoot" Dance
Adding to the company’s growing list of lawsuits.
Earlier this month, news surfaced regarding Orange Shirt Kid’s lawsuit against Epic Games over Fortnite‘s “Orange Justice” emote. Now, as TMZ reveals, you can add BlocBoy JB‘s name to the growing list of individuals who are suing the North Carolina-based media company.
Specifically, Blocboy JB is suing Epic Games over Fortnite‘s alleged use of the rapper’s viral “Shoot” dance. The lawsuit states that Epic placed the aforementioned dance in Fortnite as the “Hype” dance without the use of its creator, BlocBoy JB. Although BlocBoy JB doesn’t have a registered copyright on the “Shoot” dance, he is widely recognized as the main artist responsible for popularizing the routine and generally accepted as the primary person behind its creation.
We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available and the case progresses. Last September, BlocBoy JB also took to Twitter to criticize Epic Games over Fortnite‘s alleged use of the “Shoot” dance.
