Blocboy JB Slams 'Fortnite' For Using His "Shoot Dance"
“Every time somebody does my dance dey give credit to ‘Fortnite.’

Fortnite has become overwhelmingly popular, not only for its battle royale mechanics but for its ability to tap into youth culture by using viral or iconic dances as emotes. Blocboy JB‘s “Shoot Dance” is one of them, and like other artists dances that are in the game, he has not been credited by developer Epic Games.
The Memphis-based rapper took to Twitter to call out Epic Games for cashing in on his dance, making people associate it with Fortnite rather than him. “Every time somebody does my dance dey give credit to Fortnite,” he tweeted. “But dey ain’t create nothing but da game basically so dey taking money and credit for my shit dats crazy.” Recently, Chance the Rapper spoke on the usage of popular dances in the fame, stating “Black creatives created and popularized these dances but never monetized them. “
In other news, Chance the Rapper’s first feature film Slice is now available to stream.
