Bang & Olufsen Debut an Updated Version of Its Beoplay E8 Earphones
Now with wireless charging capabilities.
Danish consumer electronics company Bang & Olufsen recently announced its first-ever wireless charging earphones, a new 2.0 version of its Beoplay E8s.
Alongside the earphones comes a redesigned, premium leather case that features a newly introduced ergonomic form. The wireless charging mechanism occurs when the user places the earphones in the charging case, and set the case atop the charging pad. The 2.0 version comes stock with a battery allowing for 16 hours of playtime, 4 hours more than the original. It will arrive in four colors of Black, Indigo Blue, Natural and Limestone. The charging case will feature an inlay of single or double-anodized aluminum, dependent on the color purchased.
For those who already have a pair of Beoplay E8 earphones, you’re in luck. Bang & Olufsen announced that the first iteration will also be able to enjoy the benefits of wireless charging as the original version fits into the newly designed charging case.
Retailing for $350 USD, the renovated Beoplay E8 2.0s will be available from February 14 via Bang & Olufsen’s web store. The wireless charging case will be sold separately from April 2019, with the price yet to be confirmed.
