Vans Brings the Japan-Only "Tiger Check" Suede Pack Stateside
Premium Slip-On and Sk8-Hi styles.
Vans has no shortage of classic colorways to revive, however this time, a more recent makeup has been reissued. American fans now have an opportunity to grab the Slip-on and Sk8-Hi “Tiger Check” that initially only released in Japan.
Unusual placement of the brand’s signature checkerboard pattern — the rear midsole and ankle portions of the Sk8-Hi and Slip-On, respectively — distinguishes both shoes from ordinary colorways. Furthermore, the duo offer black suede and premium canvas, delivering a muted base to best showcase the focal point: embroidered tiger patches. The eyes of the tigers are covered by Vans branding written in Japanese katakana, which also appears on the Sk8-Hi’s laces, recalling the origin of the makeup.
