With a late 1970’s aesthetic to match its release date.
From the mind of Russia-based artist/animator Dmitry Grozov comes a fan-made trailer of 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope as an old-school anime. In the footage above, we see the likes of Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader reimagined in a ’70s anime aesthetic.
The voices are even redone to include Japanese redubs of iconic lines in the film to make the anime visuals appear more authentic. But John William’s classic score can still be heard, keeping what fans loved about the original film intact.
