After the success of CW’s Riverdale and its streaming views on Netflix, that same team has paired with the service to adapt another Archie Comic that spawned an iconic television series from the ’90s: Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Based on the darker take of the original Sabrina comic called Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, this Netflix series of the same name set in the 1960s will explore a dark coming of age story.

The story follows Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) as an orphan of a warlock and human whose turning 16 and signing a pact with Satan to become a witch and attend a Hogwarts-like school. But her half mortal and witch heritage are making her question her place in the world.
