AzChike & Almighty Suspect Reconnect for the "Licked Up" Video

Revisiting March’s stellar My World project, star-in-the-making AzChike reconnects with Almighty Suspect for the official video in support of their LowTheGreat-produced collaboration “Licked Up.” Notably, the visual — directed by Zion Mejia of Insomniac Music Group — finds its collaborators in the middle of a high-stakes home heist.

“Ay first off, you ain’t built like that / Call me the 05’ Wayne cause I feel like that,” AzChike boasts. “Ay, f*cking on this thot, I’mma get right back / One strike and you out, you don’t get liked back / She working up a sweat, I can’t help it, selfish / That shit that I’m rocking I can barely even spell it / If this glock like to shake hands / Better play dead / Hundred round rip the ground, make you breakdance / A beast with this rap shit and the fashion.”

Today’s release of the “Licked Up” video is also being paired with news of AzChike’s signing with R. Baron, the TK Kimbro- and Picaso-led creative direction and managerial outfit that helped propel the careers of 03 Greedo, Drakeo the Ruler, Shoreline Mafia and other influential, talented young acts. Joining AzChike will be fellow West Coast rapper 1TakeJay, who has been soaring — alongside Chike — to the top of his region’s contemporary rap scene. For several months now, both AzChike and 1TakeJay have stood at the forefront of the West Coast’s new musical movement; AzChike’s My World and 1TakeJay’s Wait Hol Up tapes are some of the best full-length releases to come out of hip-hop in 2018.
